No kids? No problem. You should still buy in a good school district and here’s why

Trulia recently released a study presenting the American Dream Home and what features Americans are looking for when buying a home. According to the study 19% of people say their dream home is located in a great school district.

Not only are buyers looking for homes within great school districts, creating a higher demand, but sellers also get to look forward to higher resale values and faster sales.

It is important to not get ahead of ourselves and try to easily correlate school districts and the real estate market. There are other factors that come into play. Assuming that a poorly rated district will bring down house values is a little far-fetched. Something to consider is private schools, they may have a different rate than public schools in the area.

Curious about the local districts in Northern Colorado? The Colorado Department of Education has great resources and tools on their website to look at the growth, sizes, disciplinary actions and performance results of districts and individuals schools.
