Fort Collins Landlord Education Series

The City of Fort Collins Neighborhood Services office will be hosting a Landlord Education Series.

The series will be held at the Twinberry Auditorium at the Fort Collins Senior Center (1200 Raintree Dr) on April 28th and May 5th. It is an 8-hour course divided between the two days. The class will run from 8 am to 12 pm and different material will be covered, so attendance is mandatory on both days.

This course is put on by Neighborhood Services in order to inform and empower landlords in our area to operate successfully within the complex and rapidly changing rental market. There is a high demand for rental properties in Fort Collins, and Northern Colorado, with little supply. Knowing how to provide your property to potential renters is hugely important to your success in this fast-paced market. Not to mention, it will provide you with ease and peace of mind knowing you are protecting yourself, as well as your asset.

Many topics will be covered during the two 4-hour classes, including:

  • resident selection
  • leases
  • code compliance
  • occupancy
  • fair housing
  • safety
  • evictions
  • CSU programs
  • rental housing standards

*Class size is limited so be sure to register in advance! It is $30 for the class, and this includes a notebook, materials and a light breakfast for both days. Register by calling 970-416-2351 or emailing mclark@fcgov.com. Payment is due at time of registration.

Are you a landlord, or thinking about being one? Make sure you cover all of your bases and are knowledge about your property rights. For additional information about renting, click here for the Landlord Tenant Information provided by the City of Fort Collins.
