A new $86 million hospital set to open on April 6, 2015 will bring competition to Fort Collins only hospital, Poudre Valley.
The city will now become a two-hospital city with the development of a 28-acre site that will provide 22 beds, two operating rooms, emergency department, a 16-room health center and all the requisite scanners, labs and medical specialties that accompany it.
Banner Medical Center off Harmony Road near I-25 will not only bring additional health care options, but will employ about 190 doctors, nurses, technicians, cooks and maintenance workers. The estimated payroll, including salaries and benefits, will be about $160 million.
The new hospital is starting small, but will have room for growth including two patient towers with up to 144 beds, a parking structure and medical office building.
Not only will Fort Collins benefit from the addition of a new hospital, but so will surrounding areas in northern Larimer County and western Weld County. For more information about Banner Health visit www.bannerhealth.com
