New Loan Limits for FHA and VA Loans

The Federal Reserve has increased the new loan limits for FHA and VA loans across the country. The FHA limit is determined on a county to county basis. In most parts of the country the loan limit is based off 65% of conforming loan limits. For example, if the conforming loan limit in a county is $500,000, then FHA loan limit would be $325,000.

There are different loan limits based on the type of property you are purchasing. You can only use an FHA loan to purchase a single-family home, a duplex, a triplex, or a four plex. Anything bigger than a fourplex is considered commercial and you can not use an FHA loan.
