4th of July:
‘Tis the season for fireworks, BBQs, camping, parades, outdoor concerts and yummy food! Fort Collins is a great destination for a special 4th of July celebration. Below is a compilation of events in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado!

FORT COLLINS
FireKracker 5K
7:30 am, Kids fun run at 9:10, City Park
Twelfth annual running of the Ft. Collins Running Club’s FireKracker 5K, features a flat fast 5K course that runs through City Park and onto City streets before finishing at Sheldon Lake in City Park.
A kid’s fun run with ribbons for all finishers will be run immediately after the 5K. A great way to kick off your 4th of July.

Golf Tournament
Shotgun start at 8:00 am, City Park Nine

33rd Annual Old Timer’s Game
9:30 am, City Park North Ballfield
Enjoy a blast from the past watching these men relive their great memories enjoying the sport that they love.

July 4th Parade
10:00 am, On Mountain Avenue (beginning at Jackson Avenue and ending at Howes Street)

City Park Pool

Take a dip in the pool! $3 admission for any age! Open until 5:30pm!

Old-Fashioned Fourth of July
10:00-1:00 pm, The Avery House
Join Poudre Landmarks Foundation for some old-fashioned fun to celebrate the fourth!

Fort Collins Foxes host Loveland Blue Jays
1:00 pm, City Park South. Free mini American flag to the first 250 fans.
Tickets are:
$6/adult;
$4/Children (5-14);
$4/Seniors (over 65);
Children under 4 and active military with ID are admitted for FREE.

Live Music
4:15-9:30 pm, City Park
Live music will be located on the South Side of the Hill at City Park at the corner of Sheldon and Mulberry.

4:15-5:15 pm: Colorado Swing Big Band
6:00-7:00 pm: Manabi Salsa Band
8:15-9:30 pm: Fort Collins Symphony

Fireworks
Approximately 9:35 pm, City Park
End the 4th of July with an amazing fireworks show.

In the case of a weather event, the fireworks display may be delayed until (no later than) 10:00 p.m. If the weather has not cleared by 10:00 p.m., the display will be postponed to July 5 at dusk. Weather that may delay the fireworks would include severe weather, moderate to heavy rain and/or wind gusts of more than 8 mph. The decision to delay will ultimately be made by Poudre Fire Authority.
Transfort Shuttle Service. Free Transfort shuttle service will be available to City Park from the Downtown Transit Center (DTC) and the CSU Towers parking lot. Shuttles begin at 5:30 PM going to City Park. Last departure leaving to City Park will be at 9:10 PM. Please call 221-6620 with Transfort shuttle questions.

MAX will also be in operation from 5:00 PM to midnight on the 4th of July. Service will begin from the South Transit Center at 5:00 PM and the last bus will depart the Downtown Transit Center at 11:50 PM. Use the MAX and a free shuttle to get to City Park.

LOVELAND
The July 4th Festival is held annually at North Lake Park in Loveland. The park is approximately 50 acres in size, and offers a wide variety of amenities including:

  • picnic areas / shelters
  • a miniature train (the Buckhorn Northern Railroad)
  • athletic fields
  • outdoor basketball courts
  • a ball field with backstop (Owens Field)
  • playgrounds
  • a swimming beach (closed on July 3rd & 4th)
  • an outdoor amphitheater (the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater)
  • a pond with fishing dock (affectionately known as “the duck pond”)
  • plenty of grassy open space
  • Located at the corner of Taft Avenue & 29th Street in NW Loveland, North Lake Park also offers one of the area’s finest outdoor entertainment venues at the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater. Constructed and dedicated in 1996 by the Loveland Rotary Club, the City of Loveland, and many local philanthropists, this “state of the art” facility offers exceptional accoustics surrounded by grass seating. For the July 4th festivities, there will be close to 20,000 spectators gathered in this area!

    PARK HOURS for JULY 4th:
    North Lake Park is open to the public from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.
    After hours camping, personal fireworks or alcoholic beverages will NOT be allowed in the park. (Alcohol Permits will NOT be issued for this park or Dwayne Webster Veteran’s Park on July 4th).

    2014 SCHEDULE of EVENTS:
    The flag raising ceremony will take place at 10:00am by the Lone Tree School House. The American Legion will have the honors of raising the american flag for this 4th of July celebration.

    Car Show – The northern Colorado chapter of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America will return this year with a car show of 25 vintage collector vehicles ranging from the 1920’s – 1970’s. The car show will be from approximately 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

    Performances:
    Rocky Mountain Cheer & Dance Company at Shelter #1 from 1:30-2:00 p.m.
    Dance performance by Morris Dancers – Breathless in Berthoud from 3:45-4:45 p.m. at Shelter #1 in North Lake Park.
    Drum performance by Djembe Jive, LLC will be from 5:15-6:00 p.m. at Shelter #1 in North Lake Park.
    Loveland Concert Band will provide entertainment at the Norma and Lynn Hammond Amphitheater stage starting at 8:00 p.m. This 80+ member band will play many of Loveland’s patriotic favorites culminating at the beginning of the fireworks show; set for 9:17 p.m.

    Fireworks Show – at 9:17 p.m. the show is set to begin over Lake Loveland. This year’s show should be approximately 30 minutes in length, and will culminate with a finale of close to 500 shots.

    WINDSOR
    4th of July 4-legged 5K Run/Walk – A race for you and your 4-legged friends! Bring the whole family and start out this year’s 4th of July with a 5K 4-legged Run/Walk at Boardwalk Park and Windsor Lake! Prizes /Awards! Pre-register for $15 online now or in person by July 3, 8:00 am at the Windsor Community Recreation Center. You can also register on the day of race beginning at 7:00 am at Boardwalk Park for $20 All ages welcome! All leashed dogs welcome! As a reminder – dogs and other pets must be leashed at all times and are not allowed in Windsor Lake on the swim beach. Register Now!

    Motorized Boating – ALL boating is prohibited on Windsor Lake on July 4th due to the set up of the Fireworks show.

    Summer Concert – Featuring: The Jurassicasters! Rock & Roll so Classic…it’s Jurassic! Bring your picnic basket, lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy some free entertainment!Boardwalk Park. Concert begins at 7:00 pm. 2014 Summer Concert Schedule.

    Fireworks – Fireworks will follow the concert over the Windsor Lake at dark.
    Personal fireworks are NOT PERMITTED in town limits and are subject to a $500 fine.

    The Town of Windsor Museum will be OPEN from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Please stop in for a visit and check out the new interactive exhibits: Discovering Windsor! A Look Back, A Leap Forward.

    The north section of the Windsor Lake Trail, including the dog swim beach, will be closed immediately following the July 4th 4-Legged 5K Run/Walk to facilitate fireworks set-up.

    Town Hall, the Police Department, and the Community Recreation Center will be closed July 4th.
