Meet the Team!

Angie:

Happy 2014 – I guess January is coming to a close so I can stop saying that but I am super excited for all of the possibilities that 2014 presents. The real estate market is very hot – we just need inventory but we are positive more and more listings will come on every day which they have.

A little about me….I have been working in real estate in some form since I was 23 years old. I was employed in Chicago by a commercial construction company called Trapani Construction which I gained valuable experience in business and specifically construction. I was recruited to do home sales for a custom home builder which was very flattering as I was young and dumb and had no sales experience. Reese Classic Residences in the NW suburbs of Chicago apparently saw value in my communication skills and ability to market and sell homes. I learned even more about homes in this role as well as my first introduction in marketing them. At the time I started with the company we were selling $300-$400K custom homes and by the time I left 3 years later sales had gone through the roof and our niche was $600K and above which was very exciting! I also became the warranty contact for this company – talk about a crash course in construction! The homeowner’s loved me but the contractors didn’t always like me that much. Change beckoned as my family decided to move to Colorado in 2000. We lived in Longmont & Lafayette and I worked in Boulder for two different real estate companies for 3 years before finally coming to Fort Collins which is where we had hoped to be all along. While working in Boulder I attended real estate courses at CU and obtained my license in 2002. I have been selling residential real estate ever since.

My life has certainly not been all about real estate though. I am a proud mother of two daughters, Kassidy and Lila which are very busy with basketball, soccer and softball, Ambassadors & youth group – I even roped them into Cotillion which teaches them some manners. They are both singers as well as I, which is another facet of my life…performing in a band called Chaotic Serenity. We are a 5 piece all female, rock, cover band! We enjoy playing out in Fort Collins, Windsor and have ventured to other communities but these two are our favorites and where our fan base lies. I won’t quit the day job though!

In my free time I love hanging out with my girls – we are big movie watchers! We have two dogs – Bosko and Pepper that keep us running on a regular basis. I enjoy riding bike, camping, hiking, doing 5K races – the goal is once a month for 2014 and most definitely getting out on the town supporting the local music scene and dancing the night away on occasion!

I am very thankful and proud that I work with Erin Devany and Jenn Smith! They hard working, knowledgeable and very professional. I always know they will positively represent our team effort in dealings with clients and agents and feel very blessed that they work with me.

Erin:

Erin Personal Picture Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful 2014! Our team is having a great start to the year, we’ve been busy setting goals and working hard. As you may know, I work as the contract manager on our team. My responsibilities include monitoring the ‘under contract’ process, keeping track of the dates and deadlines within our contract and acting as a liaison between the title company, mortgage lender, cooperating agent and clients.

My background in real estate began in 2008 as a student at Colorado State University. I studied Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate. I loved the 4 years I spent at CSU! I participated in several extracurricular organizations as well as a semester long real estate internship where I was fully immersed in the real estate industry. I was able to study abroad my senior year in London, England where I spent a semester getting international business and real estate experience.

In my free time I love to travel, cook and be outdoors. I’ve been a member of the Junior League of Fort Collins since 2012 and am currently on the committee planning our newest fundraiser, Party for a Purpose: A Gatsby Affair. I love volunteering and event planning! Putting together a new event for the Fort Collins community is both challenging and fun. A Gatsby Affair will be held on Saturday, March 29th from 8-11:00 p.m. at the Fort Collins Country Club. The fundraiser will feature performances from well-known local bands, a presentation re-capping our organization’s successes in the prior year, a silent auction, door prizes, and dancing. Tickets are $25 per person or $45 for a couple and can be purchased at: http://www.jlfortcollins.org/estore. If you are interested in sponsoring or donating, please contact me at erindevany@gmail.com to request more information about our sponsorship packages. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated!

Jenn:

Jenn Personal Picture It’s almost February already? 2014 is already going by quickly and January has proven to be busy around the office! I thoroughly have been enjoying these past 8 months as the newest member to the team. Being the marketing coordinator, I have been learning a lot about the technical details of maintaining our social media, website and all of our marketing materials. I also have been a sponge when it has come to the real estate market; there is so much to learn!

A little bit about me-I am a Colorado native and grew up in Colorado Springs and have a younger sister whom I consider to be my best friend. For the past 4 years I studied Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management at CSU. I took part in many volunteer opportunities and was a member in various organizations. In the fall of 2011, I had the privilege of studying abroad in Florence, Italy, which proved to be life changing (I know, so cliché, but it truly was an incredible experience)! During my time there, I learned about various cultures as well as how finance is conducted on a day-to-day basis. My time in Italy sparked my interest in international business and diverse cultures and influenced my topic for my Honors Thesis, which I wrote in my senior year. While my knowledge and experience in Real Estate has just begun, I am all ears when it comes to the process and all the varying factors that can influence a deal. I am excited to see what the rest of the year has in store for our team!

In my spare time I am a workout guru, especially running. Just last week, I completed my first full marathon in San Diego, California. When the weather permits, I enjoy hiking, biking, or just soaking up the sun. Traveling is also something I enjoy and have hopes to someday make it to almost all the continents (sorry Antarctica). As always, make sure to keep checking our website (FortCollinsRealEstateByAngie.com) and Facebook Business page (www.facebook/RealEstateAngieSpangler) for the latest Real Estate information and occasional give away! And don’t hesitate to let us know if there is anything you are interested in learning more about, we are always open to your suggestions!
