The Cupboard

Our team had the pleasure of meeting with Jim Hewitt, part owner of The Cupboard, who took the time to show us around and answer a few of our questions. Make sure to check out their website, and their Facebook page!

The Cupboard is a family owned and operated, 10,000 square foot kitchen specialty store. It has been a downtown institution in Fort Collins since 1972. Its original home was in the Northern Hotel building at 174 N. College Avenue, now where Butter Cream Cupcakery resides. In 1978, needing more space, The Cupboard moved one block south to its current location at 152 S. College Ave, where they were able to offer a complete array of kitchen gadgets and cookware.

Employing 30 knowledgeable individuals, they are all ready to answer your questions and help you find whatever product you may be looking for. Some of the employees have been there for close to 30 years and want to ensure your experience is only the best when shopping. The Cupboard is home to a diverse array of merchandise for both food preparation and food presentation. Walking around you will see dishware, espresso machines, aprons, table and home decor, and a variety of utensils. Jim and his employee, Polly Erickson feel the strangest product they carry is the “pickle pincher!” A utensil used for grabbing pickles out of jars. Jim’s favorite gadget in The Cupboard is the Jura Capresso Espresso Machine (pictured in the slideshow) and offered for $1,599! He made each of us a cappuccino with the touch of a button which frothed our milk, poured our espresso, and was ready to serve within seconds!

The Cupboard has several holiday specials to look forward to! They will be having promotions on their espresso machines, knife blocks, and more! They will also be featuring a live quartet, as well as other additional special events you can attend throughout the holiday season. You can find these on their Events Page on their website! If you would like to get notified regularly, sign up for their newsletter and check out their Facebook, where they are posting regularly!
